Seminar: Objective relations theory on drug addictions
Tsai Shunliang, retired aassociate professor of National Taiwan Normal University Department of Educational Psychology was invited to our facility as a keno speaker. There were several related professionals, such as psychologists and social workers, attending this seminar. Professor Tsai introduced that every individual has the need of seeking objectives. Professor Tsai also pointed out the following ideas: Individuals will look for substitute objective for their satisfaction while experiencing deprivation of objectives. One’s feeling of anxiety will go away temporarily; his or her dependence will lead to devastating result though. Therapists have to understand drug addicts ‘lost of objective by giving positive responses to client’s revealing negative self. Therapists have to provide correctional interpersonal experience in order to boost client’s function of self. Audience gave a lot of positive reviews and also opened several discussions on today’s subjects with the speakers. The goal of this seminar is to use objective relations theory to know drug addiction better and help people who suffer from that problem.
